“Cinematography is a writing with images in movement and with sounds.
Hi, my name Brandon. I tried my best to study for a BA Film Studies degree in the Department of Film King’s College London. Now I’m doing a research in historic field. I decided that in my free time I will share my observations and recommendations. I believe that movies can move unregenerate hearts. I try to watch at least one movie per day. I’m finding cinema a sophisticated pleasure. Movies are my life. Movie in a lunch break? evening screening in my room? Date- always cinema.
I know that nowadays people don’t have time to focus on history, especially if it’s not modern history and 2 WW. It’s not the same, of course, as reading the book, but let’s be honest. If there is a chance that younger generation will watch a movie which shows how the life in communist country looked like, or what led to civil war in certain country I guess it’s worth it.
Movies are my life
“The moment we cry in a film is not when things are sad but when they turn out to be more beautiful than we expected them to be.”
Especially, that often film directors are consulting heirs, survivors, people who can remember certain events and can help to reconstruct them. Or directors have some roots they would like to trace, are children of emigrants, want to present certain problems… Even if sometimes they are biased, I believe it’s worth to see what an author wants to tell us. Some of them even make it especially for certain group, like children, to talk about difficult subjects from their perspective.
“Cinema is the ultimate pervert art. It doesn’t give you what you desire – it tells you how to desire.”
I hope my each post will contain some valuable titles and reviews. At least from my personal point of view.
